ALISDAIR PUTT

Jessica is a highly experienced Advocate and Legal Adviser.  She worked for many years as a Federal Prosecutor as an employee
of the Australian Government immediately before joining Putt Legal in 2014.   Prior to her engagement as a Prosecutor, she worked
as a commercial litigator at Ashurst and, among other matters, conducted an immigration law practice. She was engaged by the Department of Immigration in relation to judicial review proceedings and represented the Department in the AAT, the Federal Magistrates Court (as it then was), the Federal Court and the High Court.  

Jessica also undertook a number of short term secondments at WorkSafe WA, as a Senior Lawyer and Director of Legal Services & Special Investigations. In addition to her work at Putt Legal, Jessica has recently worked as a Consultant Investigator to the United Nations World Food Program based in Rome, Italy.


YOVUNDHI JAYASEKERA

YOVUNDHI JAYASEKERA, Migration Lawyer

Yovundhi was admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor in the State of Western Australia in 2015 and became a Registered Migration Agent in 2016.

Yovundhi joined Putt Legal as a Law Clerk in 2014, whilst completing her studies at the University of Western Australia. During her studies, Yovundhi was a volunteer with the Australian Red Cross Refugee and Migrant Support Program.  In her final year, she undertook a Native Title Legal Internship with the Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation. She has previously studied abroad at the University of Ottawa (Canada), where she completed courses in Corporate Immigration, Sexual Assault Law, and Wrongful Conviction.

Yovundhi completed her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in 2015 with distinction, excelling in Administrative Law Practice and Civil Litigation, and completed her Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law and Practice in June 2016.


MENEESHA MICHALKA

Meneesha Michalka is an experienced lawyer specialising in Criminal Law.  She graduated with Honours in 2002 and was admitted
to the bar in 2004 after completing her early legal training as a Judge's Associate in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and
at Herbert Smith Freehills. 

In 2005 she left Herbert Smith Freehills to commence work as a State Prosecutor at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for Western Australia.  Meneesha spent 10 years as a State Prosecutor at the DPP conducting criminal trials in the Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts.  She appeared as counsel for numerous matters in the Perth Children's Court.  Meneesha also prepared numerous criminal appeals in both the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia.  For 12 months Meneesha headed up the DPP's extraditions team, overseeing the extradition of individuals from both interstate and overseas. 

Meneesha is the Secretary of the Perth Centre for Attitudinal Healing, a registered charity in Perth.  Meneesha coordinates the Centre's refugee children's wilderness days and retreats, which are run for asylum seeker and refugees aged between 5 and 12 years.  Meneesha also coordinates Attitudinal Healing's 'Beating the Black Dog' program for individuals living with depression and anxiety, and is a regular speaker at workplaces and conferences on topics of avoiding burnout, living with chronic pain and dealing with vicarious trauma. She also makes good brownies. 

Meneesha joined the team at Putt Legal in December 2015.   


Mark Wallbridge

Mark Wallbridge is a lawyer with more than 15 years' legal experience in common law jurisdictions, both in Australia and in an international context. Mark has worked as Senior Solicitor in the Prosecution Services Division of the Western Australia Police and as a State Prosecutor with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for Western Australia. As a result, Mark has significant knowledge and experience in the application of criminal law, practice and procedure in the prosecution of complex criminal matters in jury and judge-alone trials before the courts of Western Australia.

LINDA SALSANO

Linda is a Lawyer with Putt Legal having recently been admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in August 2017. She started with Putt Legal as a Law Clerk in April 2016 while completing her final year of a Bachelor of Laws degree at the University of Western Australia. After finishing University, she was a Law Graduate at Putt Legal while completing her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the Australian National University.

During her law degree she spent a year and a half volunteering with the Criminal Appeals team at Legal Aid WA and spent a month in Broome for a Native Title Legal Internship with the Kimberley Land Council. Linda also spent a month in Israel studying International and Israeli Law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Prior to joining Putt Legal, Linda worked for three years at a legal services company providing conveyancing and court lodgement services to law firms.


REBECCA ATKINSON

Rebecca is Putt Legal’s Migration Assistant and enjoys liaising with Putt Legal’s immigration lawyers and clients to prepare visa applications and related appeals.

Rebecca has extensive knowledge of various visa applications having spent over five years working in migration law. She is a specialist in independent skilled, employer sponsorship and family visas. To complement her practical knowledge, Rebecca completed the Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law Practice at Murdoch University in December 2016.


mICHELLE HICKS

Michelle is Putt Legal’s Practice Manager and Legal Assistant. Michelle has extensive administrative experience having spent over 20 years working in administration in both the legal and health industries. You will hear Michelle’s bright voice answer the phone, and she will greet you when you come in for an appointment.


Danielle Knocker

Danielle Knocker, Paralegal

Danielle is our Senior Paralegal. Danielle has worked in the Legal Industry for the past 9 years, specialising in various areas including Criminal, Commercial, Proceeds of Crime and Family Law.  Danielle has developed her skills working in various roles such as Legal Secretary, Executive Assistant and Paralegal, including working for the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions for 8 years.   She has an Advanced Diploma of Business and Legal Studies from Central Tafe Perth.


Kathy Putt

Kathy Putt is our Office Manager. Kathy has had several years of experience in sales. Apart from bringing up 3 delightful daughters over the past 2 decades, Kathy has spent a lot of time volunteering at the local primary school. Kathy voluntarily managed the uniform shop for 4 years. She also worked as an Education Assistant, working with the teachers to help children with special needs.

Kathy has now joined the team at Putt Legal to organise seminars and general office management.
